Pre production

The budget of the production process would be nothing due to me needing not much props or supplies that haven't already been given which makes the pricing more efficient. Time of the process would be from 27/11/15 till 9/12/15 due to the date I would start would be within the same process of creating the pre-production details. Personnel Tom Clarke, Daisy, Chris which would mostly associated with the production process which would be side characters to act out a situation or as people to interview or voice over the dialogue within providing the information.
Facilities I would need to provide for the process of production would be a laptop for editing, camera for filming use but also cue cards and photoshop for use of animation. Location college grounds such as outside bench area, classroom plus balcony and within the outdoor park and shop near by the college grounds.

Clearance I wouldn't need since most of my filming would be within college ground such as the college corridors, fields and outdoor community of Coulsdon College such as the shops, the park, the near by road connecting and surrounded by houses so that it shows that anywhere could be associated by Human Trafficking which makes the audience more interested in the topic, which would mean to act sensibly, but also within within my house if needed.

Copyright would be based within any sound effect or soundtracks that I have be placed within the copyright legislation which I would to ask for permission to access to author or owners copyrighted content. Health and safety would be while filming nothing that could effect the stance or damage the camera such as liquid aren't near by the electronic device as well as laptops phone props.

Code of practice and regulation, It is the responsibility of the broadcaster to comply with the Code. Programme makers who require further advice on applying this Code should, in the first instance, talk to those editorially responsible for the programme and to the broadcaster’s compliance and legal officers. Ofcom can offer general guidance on the interpretation of the Code. However, any such advice is given on the strict understanding that it will not affect Ofcom’s discretion to judge cases and complaints after transmission and will not affect the exercise of Ofcom’s regulatory responsibilities. Ofcom will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on informal guidance. 1.1 Material that might seriously impair the physical, mental or moral development of people under eighteen must not be broadcast. 1.2 In the provision of services, broadcasters must take all reasonable steps to protect people under eighteen. For television services, this is in addition to their obligations resulting from the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (in particular, Article 27, see Appendix 2). 1.8 Where statutory or other legal restrictions apply preventing personal identification, broadcasters should also be particularly careful not to provide clues which may lead to the identification of those who are not yet adult (the defining age may differ in different parts of the UK) and who are, or might be, involved as a victim, witness, defendant or other perpetrator in the case of sexual offences featured in criminal, civil or family court proceedings: by reporting limited information which may be pieced together with other information available elsewhere, for example in newspaper reports (the ‘jigsaw effect’); • inadvertently, for example by describing an offence as “incest”; or in any other indirect way. (Note: Broadcasters should be aware that there may be statutory reporting restrictions that apply even if a court has not specifically made an order to that effect.) 1.9 When covering any pre-trial investigation into an alleged criminal offence in the UK, broadcasters should pay particular regard to the potentially vulnerable position of any person who is not yet adult who is involved as a witness or victim, before broadcasting their name, address, identity of school or other educational establishment, place of work, or any still or moving picture of them. Particular justification is also required for the broadcast of such material relating to the identity of any person who is not yet adult who is involved in the defence as a defendant or potential defendantI'll be using my own camera to use for filming so I would be able to freely film while having no restrictions to the amount of filming I can do within a particular week.

Key Assesment

The title for my project would be The Secrets of Trafficking to suggest that we are exploring the mysteries but also educate people about the secrets of Human Trafficking. The Film will be a balance of factual but also try to present a real life situation from one of the examples in my research file. Either the one where a girl was saved by the police within a situation where she was being used as a sex slave. The length of the film would be maximum of 29 minutes but minimum of 20 to give as much information as possible. The film completion date would be 18/12/15 and delivery deadline would be 08/01/16. The locations are Coulsdon College grounds but also the outside community, The production team would be Tom for camera work, Daisy and Chris for acting and me for producer, Director and Editor. With object such as camera, tripod, lighting, actors, space, youtube and editing software which includes laptop. The key message is to educate the community of what is under there very noses with human trafficking but also finding out how to stop the issue from being a little problem hidden to the generation and the community. The point I want to put across would be that the issue is spreading throughout the world and is corrupting the communities which people are using to hide there secrets and be more aware so they can educate others even though it doesn't even get awareness within schools. I intend to use my film for educational and brand awareness so that they apply knowledge and support to the matter after they watch the film and take action. The target audience would be mainly 15+ which would give people who gone through secondary school and hasn't been as educated as they should be of Human Traffic. The use of music is slow pace, dramatic to build up the scene but also music that present hope within the end of the story. I won't be using already used media that have already been used unless it link to building up the scenery or situation.

Assignment 3- Documentary

Proposal

What I'm trying to achieve is to produce a documentary about the research on Human trafficking around croydon which is a act of the topic being spread throughout the world. I personally feel that this matter is a very serious topic which has a lack of education and knowledge support of the matter within schools so that children and adults know how serious this situation effects everyones lives. For example within the london borough croydon is rated 3rd most effected by human trafficking. What I to do to is basically educate the people of croydon of whats happening under their noses and how they could be more aware of the topic. This would also link to the world-wide scale of human trafficking especially within South Asia within Thailand's fish industry. Within my survey's research I have learnt through questionnaires that not many people are educated within schools about human trafficking which suggest that even though it's a big issue at the moment people just don't know much or do much about the situation. Within my secondary research I found out that our borough is the third worst within the UK and organisations such as CCAT is contributing to stop human trafficking through event like walk and awareness campaign within croydon area but also use of donations. That not all, globally human trafficking is a serious problem especially within south asia such as thailand from the use of slaves within their fishing industry which outrages people within different countries since they know that this is happening. I also got some primary sources from books which contain quotes which link into human trafficking which balance out my research methods of both primary but also secondary sources. I've received more in depth research the company CCAT where it's is simplified from Croydon Community Against Human Trafficking which they attend event such as walk throughout London area, Music events but also Tv events to give as much awareness to the cause as possible however, little knowledge within the area about this cause and organisation which means it's not getting out as much as it should be if people were more educated about the issue. I've also searched a little bit deeper into some story that people have gone through and have been rescued or effected the organisation through danger and threats such as:
http://www.destinyrescue.org/us/blog/for-sale-at-16/

a story of a girl name lek who was saved by police officers at a bar where she was a child sex slave.

http://www.destinyrescue.org/us/blog/rape-murder-of-13yo-girl-devastates-rescue-team/

a story of a girl who got raped and murdered in a bar after being rescued by destiny rescue team.

The global effect of this
http://thediplomat.com/2015/06/can-southeast-asia-tackle-its-human-trafficking-problem/

Over a few months their were several outburst of a international scale considering south asia's trafficking problem due to mass graves within Malaysia and Thailand and use of slaves within the seafood industry of Thailand.

Luse then framed the issue of human trafficking in Southeast Asia as being emblematic of a larger reality, where individuals – migrants, refugees and others – are bought, sold, traded or otherwise mistreated. Luse described human trafficking in Southeast Asia as an “economic whirlwind of substantial force” caused by partly by the juxtaposition of extreme poverty with new opportunities for economic exploitation opened by globalisation. It is also facilitated by corruption, disregard by many local businesses as to the background and documentation of their employees, and the power wielded by criminal syndicate leaders and masterminds who appear to have gone untouched.

For Luse, if Southeast Asia is to get serious about tackling its trafficking problem, it would need to address all the key aspects of the problem. For starters, Southeast Asian governments, Luse said, must get serious about combating corruption.

Assignment 2- working to a brief

One of the various types of brief within the industry would be a formal brief which specifies on the finalised product, this purpose would be to structure and organise the company's needs. This brief is structured a way that is clear and precise so that the company has a clear idea what they're doing. This allows the client to have a open idea of any issues raised by the company about the final product. On the other hand, this could be shown as a lack of information for the client which could have a chance of the finished product being not to the standards of the client mind set, this could also lead up to financial hazards which would be a problematic issues for both parties.

A informal brief would be a opposite layout towards the formal brief, this would be a more shortened verbal agreement which would be considered non-official.. This could shown through a variety of short and simple questions about doing a project to support somebody out. This makes it easier to understand from the other parties view. However this type of agreement would conflict confusion which the client and companies as to the actual job roles within the production process.

A contractual brief is a brief or contract where company's within the media industry is employed by the client to complete a project within the brief, which would set relevant guidelines which the media company must follow. This makes sure the company follows the guidelines to fit the clients need of the product, if not followed could lead to legal action. The advantage of contactual brief would be allowing the media company to have more knowledge of in depth guidelines to successfully produce a product without much negotiation. The disadvantage of this type of brief which would be if the media company discover any issues within the brief they would produce the product based by their own standards which would lead to a standard set by the client to either take legal action or degrade the media company's reputation due to not completing the set brief. An example:

Cooperative Brief is type of brief which use two or more companies who are competing for the project have any issues between them about the brief or have anything to clear up with the client. Then through that process they negotiate the brief for any changes in order to suite every party within the production process. This could from the changing the products appearance of the product to the content of the product but also keeping within the guidelines of the set brief. The advantage would be that the project has more variety of suggestions to change and improve the product from multiple perspectives. However, the disadvantages of this type of brief would be sometime becoming a waste of time due to unnecessary issues that are brought up which the clients feels like it doesn't need to be effected or changed which could delay the production process. Example:

Negotiated brief is where a media company is given a brief by the client that gave a outline to the product which they want to produce. This brief is very open and gives a funnelled amount of information to be able to create the product for any issues or information the media company which would go over through any discussions during the negotiations with the client. The client and company hired would formally agree to the brief however not always legally binding. The advantages of the brief would mean the client would be very with any ideas or issues concerning the project which makes the creative process of the product have more room for negotiation with the media company and the client. The disadvantage of this brief would be that the client wouldn't give enough information about the product which could lead to not completing the product within the clients standards. But also due to the brief sometimes not always legally binding which could apply problems within the project financially or even a breach within a contract.

As someone who would be working to a media company sector the important factor of working to a brief would be to keep within the guidelines to the client's brief so that you don't have any trouble of delaying the production of the product but also producing the product within a standard which could lead to the client to apply any legal action. The other way to work towards a clients brief within the media industry is to work with the client so that your updated for any necessary changes and improvements which both parties could benefit within both the production process but also the organisation to fit the selected timeline we are working around. However there are some situations where you are assigned by a client to work within a group which would make the media organisation set aside anything competition and work together to improve and suggest any ideas to relate to the production but still keep to the brief.

Friday 9 October 2015

homework brief

I would need to develop to complete this task would be to learn mainly on web design to produce the clients website and make sure that I know most of the techniques to produce the clients need as a innovative and unique design. However, what I would like added to this would be what type of information and where I would be able to gather and source the right information from what the clients wants me to present within the site.

Assignment 1

What is social action and community media?

Social action is a creative tool used within media to present knowledge and awareness of a public or global issue that should be presented and taken care of. Community media would be a group of people who would have a similar beliefs and interests but also, sharing experiences which would allow them to come together in an issue they strongly believe in.

The main purpose of community media would be to give the people a voice and empowering the people instead of just seeing them as just passive consumers, this is to apply information to the people's ears, which is for lack of resources to allow their voice to be heard. Community media also balances out the sense of inequality which is due to thing such as government reconstructing cultural buildings which have been there throughout people's lives to be constructed just for higher income and tourist attraction.

The types of social action would be local change where the current issues within a community which people within the community would be concerned with which destroy the view and comfort within their area such as littering, drugs and gangs, the different ways the local communities can take action and change a negative issue would be for example survey's, community parties and workshops. A example of local change would be the Purley swimming pool campaign where the community of Purley contested and campaigned to keep the swimming pool which was one of the key features of the area which through use of community media and social action prevailed through gaining the councils approval of keeping the swimming pool but also improve the facilities but also work together to strengthen the community and what everyone would like within the community. The main impact is within seeking to the tradition of the community by showing how long the swimming pool and how we've built our community around it which appeals to the audiences past and children's future of loving the swimming pool like you used to or still do.

Another type would be National change, which would consider change within a country, which certain issues are placed onto the public so they can produce a positive outcome. An example of this would be the British heart foundation, which aim to keep hearts healthy and fight against heart disease. This gave awareness of heart disease and how to keep your heart in shape. This documentary for heart disease appeals to people emotional fears such as losing a love one or a friend who just left all of a sudden through heart disease and how it could impact people who suffer from the lose. The use of camera shows how even within a classroom situation they make sure that the child we are focusing on is noticed through use of panning and zooming into a long to mid shot, which then presents a figure through a side mid shot so that you can see both the child and what seems to be his dad talking to him but then when his dad kneels down we have a focus mid shot towards the dad to have the audience take the child's views of the situation. My personal opinion of this documentary would be how the scene where his dad leaves him after saying that he's leaving him which then leads up to the principle asking him to outside due to his mum telling him the bad news however, we already knew through the boy being given a farewell from his dad which gives a impactful scene of how sudden the death of someone suffering from heart disease.
Description: https://img2.blogblog.com/img/video_object.png

Global change would be within worldwide scale of change, which would mean a situation that is affecting everyone to get noticed and attract attention so people could come together globally to make a difference within a major scale. An example of this would be an organisation called Green Peace, which aims to protect the earth by finding responsible solutions to lead up to peace. This impacted companies such as Adidas, Puma and Nike to go toxic free within their production to help the environment. This would also lead up to KONY since it suddenly became a very impactful campaign due to it showing awareness about children in Africa being kidnapped to be forced to train as a child soldier and kill their family as passage to show loyalty. This spread fast throughout the world about finding the leader Joseph Kony and learning more about what he has done within Africa which lead up to the documentary which gained more than 98,000 views.

Description: https://img2.blogblog.com/img/video_object.png

In the video this presented to me that people believe deeply about what they want to change and if people are aware of the situation they could either stay silent or speak out. What I liked about this
was the step by step through cycling life from the American side gradually going towards the experience his friend Jacob went through and allow people to be dragged back into the video to watch it end, he also used professional aid within the video so that he could show how to stop this but also how people could contribute to stop Kony and the struggle of the children who been taken by the society. The key factors I saw used within the videos were using scenes within the area and repetition on the face of Kony so that the audience would remember the face to link in with poster and other campaigns, also through showing examples of how much work they been applying into the issue such as making so much work on social networks like Facebook but also going to the upper department and asking for assistance with military aid not go to combat with the army of youth but to get closer and closer into finding and arresting Kony. Overall I have learned that with hope and strong beliefs to make action towards your community within a matter that is drastic it would be possible to make a change.

Social

The issue of human trafficking isn't seen as a serious issue but still dangerously impacts the world. This does not denote them as being not a serious matter, nonetheless. Those who have truly experienced human trafficking are the ones who must cope with the majority of the social impacts. Although, HIV and AIDS can be spread because of human trafficking, which can affect any and all of the population. Despite there being shared impacts of human trafficking, the specific incidents tend to differ from country to country.

The US ambassador for human trafficking, Luis CdeBaca, is calling for Burmese military officers to be held accountable for any involvement in human trafficking or the recruitment of child soldiers.  Human rights advocates say an end to impunity by Burma’s military’s involvement with human trafficking is seen as a key test for the new civilian government.
After the end of an official visit to Burma, U.S. Ambassador for human trafficking Luis CdeBaca says he remains optimistic the civilian government will move to reduce forced labor and child soldier recruitment. But CdeBaca, who travelled to Burma with U.S. special envoy and policy coordinator for Burma Derek Mitchell, said senior military officers need to be held accountable for human-rights abuses such as forced labor.
“One of the things as well is the issue of accountability for the military officers, both the ones who use civilians for forced labor but also the ones who are engaged in recruitment child soldiers," said CdeBaca. "There have been a number of prosecutions for recruitment for recruitment of child soldiers but it’s all the low level guys.”

Summary of subject documentary

My documentaries situation and subject to action upon would be Human trafficking because this is a serious situation which is misjudged and is spreading into different areas of the united kingdom but also globally throughout the world which I feel that if I present the situation head on towards a audience through a visual presentation then people would be more aware but also alert to reduce the problems hidden within their communities starting within Croydon to place down a small example which could gradually spread throughout UK and maybe be noticed by other countries. The resources I will use to get research which would benefit the resolve for the situation of human trafficking would be through interviews, real life stories and maybe personal experiences but also statistics to present small information gradually into the audience.

Analysis on interview

The name of this interviewer is Jon Snow from channel 1 who was interviewing Vitaly Milonov. The importance the the interviewers role here was to clarify Vitaly's ideas of gay people and then how he links it into pedophilia to make sure the audience understand his way of expressing his opinion which link to the purpose of the interview which to reply to his justification of the subject. The types of questions used are open so that Vitaly has slight freedom of how he portrays his view towards the audience, suggestive so for example when Vitaly said that he doesn't want gay people to assault their children which Jon Snow replies by suggesting that Vitaly refers Gay people to link in with pedophilia which made Vitaly speechless but also hesitant to answer that question which then became a time for cover up answers which made the statement even more justified. The structure was form start quite paced and relaxed to gradually building up even more pressure towards each answer, which led to a summary of Vitaly being agitated and lead to him being a homophobic who feels that he needs to protect the children of russia from gay who he believe are linked into pedophilic actions. The communication skills used and how body language at the start was relaxed and casual which then at the main factor of the interview showed dominance by leaning into the question through use of body language. Which also emphasised how throughout he was building up to a conclusion and actively listening so that he provides  what information the audience is being given and provide a conclusion to the whole interview through direct questions.

the purpose of this documentary is to raise awareness of whats happening within Libya and how we should try to help through spreading the information given which links to another purpose of providing information towards the audience which would allow the audience to have more knowledge and understanding of the situation so they can feel more strongly about it.

Effectiveness as a social action documentary
the techniques they use to drag the audience in through use of personal experience and past stories of their journey for example how people have died of starvation to get to Europe and instead go in prison, which apply to the audience a building up effect of sympathy so you can manipulate them to make a change and do something about this situation as a huge community. The use of sound is used to manipulate the audiences thoughts and emotions through something like a vibration echo that sounds isolated to link in how the migrants are isolated within a place and no where else to go but europe.

personal response
My personal opinion of the situation and the documentary itself shows how people should be treated inhumanly just because they're taking a journey to their dream life within europe or another place. I really liked the way they showed how people travelling to europe and what they have
to go through by being discriminated and used as degraded citizens through the clip used where they show a man hitting all the migrants who are weak from the journey.
